Rental Terms
Effective October 31, 2026
- $5 per hour, charged for each hour or part of an hour.
- $40 maximum per rental. You never pay more than $40 for one rental.
- Return within 2 days (48 hours). If the battery isn't back by then, the rental ends, you're charged $40, and the battery is yours to keep.
- Pay with a credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at the card reader on the station.
By tapping your card or phone to rent a battery, you agree to these terms.
Pricing and payment
- Card hold. When you tap to rent, we place a temporary hold of $40 on your card. A hold is not a charge.
- Charge on return. When you return the battery, we charge only the time you used, at $5 for each hour or part of an hour, and release the rest of the hold. Your bank may take a few business days to clear it.
- Maximum. Charges stop at $40 per rental, however long you keep the battery.
- Not returned in 2 days. After 48 hours, we charge the full $40 and the rental is closed.
- Receipts. The charge shows on your card statement as AMPED. For an itemized receipt, email support@chargeamped.com.
Prices include any applicable sales tax. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Returns, lost and damaged batteries
- Where to return. Return the battery to the station you rented it from, or to any AMPED station once more locations are listed on this site.
- How to return. Push the battery fully into an empty slot until it clicks. The rental ends when the station confirms the return.
- Station full or not working? Email support@chargeamped.com before the 2-day limit and we'll sort it out with no extra charge.
- Lost, stolen or not returned. You're charged $40 and the battery is yours. There are no further fees.
- Damage. Don't open, puncture, get wet or heat the battery. If it's returned badly damaged on purpose, we may charge up to $40.
- Safety. Stop using the battery if it swells, gets very hot, smells or smokes, and contact us right away.
Refunds, privacy and contact
- Refunds. If a battery didn't work, the station didn't release one, or you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days. We'll refund the charge after checking the station record.
- Disputes. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. Most problems are fixed the same day.
- Who can rent. You must be 18 or older, or have permission from a parent or guardian, and use a payment card you're allowed to use.
- Our liability. Batteries are provided as-is. We aren't responsible for lost data or for a phone that doesn't fully charge. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the rental.
- Privacy. We keep only what we need to run the rental: the time, station, amount and the last four digits of your card. We don't sell your information.
- Changes. We may update these terms. The version posted here applies to rentals started after the date at the top.
